I know that reservations go fast and that we should make reservations ASAP, but do we need to make them 6 months in advance to the day? Or can we wait one week so that we have a better sense of what our plans will be like. We are going on the off season (the week before Presidents' Day) but will we be able to get reservations one week after they open?

I mean you really want to make your reservations 180 days in advance if at all possible. Spots go so quickly, especially with the Princess Dinning meals at that. What I would almost recommend doing is make reservations for that particular dinning on different days during your trip there, that way you have the wiggle room to go to one and then cancel the others. JUST make sure that you cancel within 48 hours, usually its 24, but i like to do 48 just in case, because a lot of the special dinning packages like the princess or character ones require a credit card to reserve the spot and they will charge if you do not cancel it within a certain amount of time.

Even though you're visiting during a relatively quiet time of year, I would still recommend making a reservation for a Princess dining experience as soon as you are able. You could *probably* still secure a reservation if you wait a week, but I think you would have a better chance and better time selection if you make it ASAP. The Princess dining experiences are popular year-round and the reservations will probably fill up the closer you get to your trip. And since you're wanting breakfast you will have an even smaller window of opportunity to book a reservation as opposed to the lunch/dinner block of reservations. You still have a few months to hammer down your plans before you're able to book a dining reservation.

It's like reservations for anything else, you can wait longer but chances are your options will be more limited. If you are OK with possibly eating at an odd hour then wait a week.

What you could do though is make reservations for your best guess and then if it doesn't work out cancel those and pick a different date, it's no big deal and they won't charge you.

We made our dinner reservations for Cinderella's Royal Table 180 days in advance, and there were very few openings available from which we could choose. We went in September, during Value season, when crowds are at some of their lowest. I would make a reservation as early as you're able, and then call back later to see about changing it if you'd like. If they have a more ideal opening for you then, great; if not, at least you still have something.

its been my experience that you really do want to make reservations 180 days in advance.

i mean you can wait a week and you will still probably easily get a reservation considering when you are going but then again you may not.

just make them as soon as you know what you want to do and hope it works out.

You will want to make them as soon as possible. Its not like concert tickets though. They go fast but not in a single day. You can wait till you have a better idea of your plans. I would not wait till a week or so before your trip. I would try to make them as soon as you have it nailed down. The other restaurants you really do not have to worry as much about.
