Question:
So, just how horrifying will the crowds be during spring break at Disney?

I'm sure that it will be packed based on what I've heard about and read. But just how crazy does it really get during spring break?

My last trip to Disney was in the fall when the crowds were very low, and the fast passes for Toy Story were already out by 10:30 one morning! Yikes! So I can't imagine what it's like during the busiest seasons.

So just how bad does it get? Do fast passes run out right away? How is the parking and transportation? How many attractions can one realistically accomplish during such a busy time? Are there more security problems due to cranky, claustrophobic people?

Just wanting to hear any interesting stories out there.

They can be rather crazy and that is one of the reasons we never go during that time of the year. The cost is always higher for rooms and air too which can also be a kick in the pants.

Fast passes go very fast so if you are worried about a specific ride I would just book it there as fast as you can when the park opens to get one.

The big thing is how much time you have there. If you have a week to enjoy the parks, have a hopper and are staying on property you will have no time between the extra days and magic hours. If you are only going for 3 days, not staying on property and do not have the park hoppers I can promise you that you will not get to do everything during that time of the year.

Transportation is not too bad, during the day but you can sometimes wait a few buses before you can get on one early in the day or late at night. If the bus line is long check the mono-rail or the boats. Sometimes mono-rail lines are far shorter.

The only time I see people get really cranky is in the hot summer months. The combo of waiting in long lines in the heat can put people on a short fuse. During spring break it is far cooler so it is not as bad.

Do you know when you are going? Are you staying on property? How many days?

Keep in mind that not every school has spring break at the same time - so Spring Break time can vary from early March to late April. Other than Easter Weekend which a lot of school have off.

I've gone in Feb/March/April and not had any problems getting to do what I wanted. That said - if you are the sleep in late and meander over at around 11 am - you will have difficulties almost any time you go.

My adult daughter and I went mid June - very crowed and we did all 4 parks in 2 days and went to do what we wanted the last day. We stayed on the disney property so had early in and late stay at at least one park every day. We are experienced and planned a head but got everything done including mission space, soarin, etc.

Crazy.

Not only do people from other states come to Disney, but people from different countries do too. Like the UK, etc. I think you could handle it though, unless you hate waiting in lines for 40 to 50 minutes.
