When is the least busy time for Florida Theme Parks as I don't want to waste my holiday queueing!?

I am looking to take my 2 children (9&7yrs old) on their first Florida theme park holiday and would prefer not to suffer the torture of waiting in long hot queues with them. We are not planning of going in school holidays to keep the prices down and are tentatively looking at the end of Feb/March time as it is slightly cooler.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated from those that have been before at this time.

The best time to go in terms of crowds is in what Disney considers their "off-peak" times. The end of February beginning of March I do believe is the beginning of the spring break season, so the crowds may be a little bigger, but not too bad. Keep in mind that if crowds are your only concern going in the off peak season is a great idea, however, that is when Disney does it's cleaning and refurbishments. Many of the more popular rides are closed down for periods of time, the parks close much earlier than usual, and many of the special events that you find in the peak seasons are not scheduled. So there are advantages in terms of crowds, but there are some disadvantages as well.

I put a link below from About.com for some good info about when to go to Disney. Also, check out the disboards. The disboards is a message boards website all about going to Disney. You can get resort reviews, restaurant reviews, opinions, tips for avoiding crowds, insider info, and much more. I put that link below as well.

Hope this helps, have a great trip!

Yes Feb/March is significantly cooler. Once you get past that, forget it. The prob. you have with waiting to Sept/Oct is the hurricane season and heavy rains every afternoon.

We tend to park hop and get the early entry time for whatever park is open early. IF the group is ziggin..you need to zag! We get in early, grab fast passes when needed. eat an early lunch and head outta the park at peak noon! Go back to the hotel and nap or swim, eat some dinner and head back out at night.Sometimes the disney parks have a late night for people staying on disney grounds as well. Take advantage of the Disney Resorts. Even at $84/ night, it's worth it not to have to park and wait in line.

Take some snacks in a fanny pack and a refillable water bottle for drinking fountains. If you have a b-day, tell the check in and they'll arrange a special surprise for your birthday child. It's great. They'll remember it forever.

Some school districts have their spring break week in mid to late February, so if you want to avoid long lines end your trip before Feb 15th.

Three years ago I was there the week of Feb 19 - 26 and the place was mobbed with children on spring break week from the New York City area.

I am not referring to college students.

Its 70 degrees right now at Disney at 9:45 am.

The high is expected to be 86 degrees F.

We have always gone towards the end of October (the UK school half term). The weather is warm but not too hot. There have been very few queues at any of the parks as the US kids are still in school. You can also get good hotel rates if you book online rather than with a package company as they aren't very busy.

Feb./March is the peak of tourist season. I have a good friend who dispatches buses at Disney for a living and he told me October is the best month to visit. Plus if you stay at a Disney property you get into the parks 30minutes before the general public. I would get into the park early, head right for the most popular rides/attractions. Then around noon head back to your room for some lunch and perhjaps a nap by the pool. Head back out at around 3 p.m. as lots of the early birds will be leaving and hit the other popular attractions you missed earlier. I prefer Sea World and a trip to Tampa to visit Busch Gardens and the Anheuser Busch water theme park Adventure Island. Plus you are only 30-40 minutes from the beaches of the Gulf of Mexico. You can get a 3 park pass and save some bucks. Disney is overpriced and overrated.

I would go in September, October, november - avoiding Thanksgiving and UK half terms. The weather is cooler but great , possibly wetter in September and the queues are definately shorter. Otherwise, Feb March is good but Easter 2008 is early so go early rather than late.

The lines shouldn't be too bad at that time. Disney parks have a system called fast pass. It allows you to get tickets for the most popular rides, and gives you a return time to go back to that ride. Your wait then is usually less than 5 minutes. You can get alot of information of the Disney parks website. www.disneyparks.com

Magic Kingdom is busiest subject park at Walt Disney worldwide in Florida. in basic terms for greater strategies: Walt Disney worldwide hotel incorporates 4 subject parks, 2 water parks and different distinctive attractions, all working independently and requiring separate admission (except utilizing a Park Hopper® value ticket, greater on that under). Veterans will probably comprehend purely what they desire, and could take the prospect to locate greater present day parks and constructive properties. on the different hand, first-timers owe it to themselves to stick to the classics. right here’s a sprint greater on each park: * Magic Kingdom - the unique park and website of the worldwide-prominent Cinderella fort. conventional attractions contain the parades on considerable highway united statesA., Splash Mountain, area Mountain, Haunted Mansion and “It’s A Small worldwide”. in case you don’t pass to Magic Kingdom, it’s questionable despite in case you’ve had a real Disney worldwide adventure or no longer.Magic Kingdom * Epcot - Oddly-named subject park ordinary maximum for the Spaceship Earth, that's an actually journey (yet isn't the only journey, as I’ve heard human beings misunderstand in the previous). Many rides and attractions at Epcot characteristic a futuristic-subject. * Hollywood Studios - You don’t hear lots approximately this park, inspite of attracting over 9 million visitors a 365 days. the biggest attractions listed right here are the outcomes exhibits, exciting nuggets of action and relaxing showing off somewhat action picture magic. * Animal Kingdom - traditionally, Disney has promoted Animal Kingdom as no longer a zoo, despite the fact that that's. It’s a zoo with rides, despite the fact that it’s nevertheless a zoo and an outstanding one at that. in case you’ve have been given animal-fans interior the gang, you could’t omit. * hurricane Lagoon & snowfall coastline - 2 water parks, as a results of fact one wasn’t sufficient (they actually had 3 for some years). whilst hurricane is a much bigger, greater finished-featured park, I dig snowfall coastline’s unusual ski-hotel aesthetic. * Downtown Disney - This loose-to-pass to procuring, eating and leisure district is somewhat over-commercialized, maximum excellent to claims that it particularly exists to entice locals. Me? i like the ambience, the flash and dazzle, despite the fact that that's an high priced place. It’s no longer on the suited of the checklist.

November / December / January -ish. Just be sure you don't go around the holiday time, because it gets packed. August - September is when the locals get discounts and go, the summer is MASS CHAOS and completely stressful. Your best bet is the winter, just stay away from the holiday time as much as possible.

Go between the weekend after Easter and the first weekend of May, if you're looking to go in the next few months for the shortest lines.

Also learn to use Fastpass to your advantage to avoid waiting in line. Get a Fastpass for one ride, and then get on another ride nearby while you're waiting. Usually, when you're done with the first ride, you can then go get on the second.

Summer is clearly the slowest, but it's also the hottest. It's going to be busy, there's just no way around that. It will be less busy during the weekdays than on the weekend. In Feb to March, though, it won't be very hot - in fact it can be quite cool in those months so you need to be ready for a variety of weather - probably very comfortable in the day with fairly cool nights.
