I've done (and love) both Big Thunder Mountain and Splash Mountain, they are actually my favorites! Could I do Expedition Everest?? How long is the backwards drop (time-wise, a few seconds or like 10-20 seconds)? I've never done a roller coaster in the dark, but if the track is similar to Big Thunder than I think I'll be okay doing it. How similar is it to Big Thunder?

I'll just say this: my thrill-ride-hating, motion-sickness-prone mom rides both Expedition Everest and Space Mountain, and she loves them both. I actually just finally got her on Expedition Everest for the very first time a few weeks ago, after trying to convince her to try it since it opened in '06. As soon as we got off, she was rushing past me with a big smile on her face, in a hurry to get right back in line! She absolutely loved it and wanted to ride it again immediately.

The backwards portion is about 20 seconds, and as mentioned, it's not really a drop, just some twists and turns. There are plenty of EE ride-through videos on YouTube, so you can time it yourself if you want. And the lift hill looks pretty big when you look at it from the ground, but the hill you see the coaster going up is NOT the size of the hill it actually goes down. The biggest down hill is only 80 feet. That's only 30 feet higher than Splash Mountain, which sounds like a lot, but it's really not.

I won't lie, it's a little more intense than Big Thunder Mountain, but not really by much. As coasters go, EE is pretty mild. Trust me, if my mom can ride it, you can. She'd be the first one to admit that she's a major scaredy-cat when it comes to rides, and she's very prone to motion sickness, but when she finally tried it, she thought it was a blast and couldn't wait to ride it again.

Space Mountain is a piece of cake, very mild. It's basically a wild mouse style coaster, if you've ever ridden one of those. Just a series of sharp turns and fairly small ups and downs. The thing that makes it thrilling is that you can't see what's coming, since it's so dark that you can't even see your hand in front of your face, let alone the track. The turns, dips, and hills come very suddenly, and the darkness makes it seem faster than it is. But all of this just makes it more fun. It's not scary at all.

You can do both of them, no problem, and I know you'll be glad you did! Good luck! :)

I think you would be okay on both. The backwards part of Everest isn't really a drop. You're just going down through a helix. I don't think it lasts more than 15 seconds. There is an 80-foot drop, but it's banked so it's not really steep or anything. I don't think it's any worse than Splash Mountain's drop.

Space Mountain's track is pretty similar to Thunder Mountain - it's mostly just twists and turns. I do recall two drops though, but they aren't big or steep. According to the Wiki article, Space's largest drop is 26 feet. So I think it's slightly more intense than Thunder Mountain since it does have those drops, and of course since it's in the dark and you don't really know what's coming. It technically goes a little slower than Thunder Mountain, but it feels much faster because of the dark!

The backdrop in Expedition everest is about 20 seconds, the only scary part in expedition everest is going up that chainlift through the small bridge, because its very high up.

Big thunder mt.'s max speed is 30 mph and space mountain's is 28mph. Big thunder has 3 chain lifts though and stops every so often. After the lift in space mountain it goes fast throughout the rest of the ride.

This is space mt. with lights on

Space mt. and thunder mt. look entirely different.

Space mt. and Expedition everest are both really fun, after you're done riding you'll want to ride it again.

Your just like me! Space mountain is apparently scarier in the light because you can see the tracks how close they are to one another, so if you are claustrophobic don't do space mountain. Expedition Everest as long as you didn't mind Test Track you should be good, if you're afraid of going backwards: unfortunately I never rode it so I can't help with that, sorry

You could do both. I ridden them all and don't mind riding any of them again. My kindergartener will ride all of those too. My 11 year old...however will only ride Big Thunder. But she has ridden all 4...now she won't go back on 3 of them...lol! She is the scaredy cat. She just doesn't enjoy roller coasters- it is her personality. But she does love Test Track. lol!

Space Mountain would probably be the most prone to motion sickness because you can feel disoriented. I could see well enough to anticipate which way the car was going to turn which helped me not get the nausea I can be prone to.

On Everest you go backwards for about 20 seconds but it isn't a drop its more a series of turns.

Both Everest and Space Mountain are quite tame and good fun and you should do them both.

I can't tell you about Expedition Everest because I live in California and only been on Space Mountain but what I can tell you is you should only worry about motion sickness on Space Mountain.
